A Royal Wedding
I’m blushing but, not like a bride.
I’m hoping to distract you from the fact that I’ve missed even saying hello in April or May. I’d like to invite you, instead, to jump right back into willowday with me. I do have this foliage portrait of a blushing Megan Markle as a bride that I hope will help! Yes. I’m busy working on foliage portraits and other artwork. I can’t thank you enough for spreading the word and your support.
Back to blushing brides and grooms though: did you watch the wedding yesterday?
Princess Charlotte and Prince George
I could not take my eyes off the screen.
Spelling binding.
That dress. The pair. The look of love. Their families. The history. The broken traditions. The music. That arch.
When I heard of the special floral embroidery on the veil, saw the arch and then learned of Harry picking the bouquet from his front yard, I was so inspired that I immediately stepped out onto my own front yard to gather that same flowers: lily of the valley, birch branches and more to create a portrait for the day.
I feel like a once trick pony when I share that I baked our household favourite scones again, here, to set the tone but, they’re our favourites. Did you watch or do you remember what you did when Kate and William were married?
We’re just returning from a two week Spring break and we also traveled. A break, this time of the year, almost feels like it capsizes our family schedules but, with a very happy heart.
If you follow along with on Instagram, it’s the only social media I’ve been able to stay up to date with over the past month; but, want to catch up with you, too. I’ve been working on an Flower Animal Safari for kids. You can see sample of what I mean here:
Lilac Llama and Dandelion Lions but, I’ll share more in full soon.
With summer around the corner, I’ll be back to share a few ideas to do with kids or for you but, I need the blog to move along with the tempo of our family life and my current art and illustration work. Thank you so much for understanding and for also continuing with me! Just check out our archives to find oodles of projects and recipes for kids. I think the kitchen is a great place to enjoy one another and to also get creative. Have you received this free ebook that I compiled for subscribers only?
