HELLO

Hi, I’m Gina Vide (pronounced Vee-dah—the Swedish word for ‘willow’), the artist behind Willowday: a creative world rooted in nature and petal-based artwork.
Welcome to Gina Vide Studio & Willowday, where you’ll soon find new collections and a growing shop. I’m an artist, illustrator, designer, and teacher living in Sweden with my French-American-Swedish family between city and sea that inspire me daily.
Warmly,
Gina Vide

Whether painting or working with foraged botanicals, I create one petal at a time—honoring the rhythm of the seasons and the wonder of the everyday. My love for art began early: drawing on birch bark, coloring with crayons at the kitchen table, and dancing beneath cosmos blooms in our garden. Travel and storybooks shaped my imagination from the start—especially the line:
“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines…” (It could be said I married Pepito—but that’s another story.)
Over the years, my creative path has led to collaborations with Disney, PopSugar, Botanical Anthology, and others. I illustrated Saga om Confidencen, a children’s book commissioned by the Swedish Royal Family, was artist-in-residence at Villa Puebla in France, and created a large-scale botanical installation for Scandinavia’s biggest garden show, Trädgårdsmässan.
Experience After studying in a BFA program, I’ve continuously worked internationally as a creative professional: you can find some of my work at Disney, PopSugar, Huffington Post, Bolig Magazine and Botanical Anthology, and I’ve collaborated with clients like Sony, Universal Music, Östasiatiska Museum, TREK Bicycles, and Karolinska Institute. I also illustrated the children’s book Saga om Confidencen, commissioned by the Swedish Royal Family.
I’ve recently been an artist-in-residence in Barcelonnette, France, at the historic Villa Puebla, and created a 250-square-meter exhibit at Scandinavia’s largest garden show, Trädgårdsmässan.
When at play… When not in the studio, I spend time with my French-American-Swedish family—my husband, three children, and two dogs. I love connecting with people, traveling, enjoying good food, staying active, and discovering beauty in the details of everyday life.
Warm wishes,
Gina Vide

PS Award-Winning Blog I originally founded Willowday, an award-winning blog, with my 3 children to share and spark everyday creativity. What began as a family project has grown into an archive of over 800 projects crafted from our home between the city and sea in Sweden and led to botanical art—a tribute to the nature walks with my children that inspired me to work with this medium. You can explore this archive in my Studio Journal
