DIY Macaroni Garland

DIY Macaroni Garland

Macaroni Crafts | Part 2: DIY Macaroni Garland

Macaroni is a quintessential crafting material for young children. Since this week I’m participating in a Macaroni Challenge, I rounded up our extra pieces of pasta, after making our Flower Pompom Macaroni Necklaces just to see where this might lead us and decided to double up and share a little more macaroni-making with you, too.

#TheMacaroniChallenge challenge will end on Sunday, May 3,  and if you’re still looking for more Macaroni inspiration, jump below for a few more ideas. We’d love to see what you’re doing!

Want a Macaroni Warm up? Make portraits, like this!

or bead, bead, bead away and make a garland. It makes a graphic, colourful garland!

I always loved making garland with the kids (here | here | here | here..) but hadn’t tried Macaroni when they were in pre-school. Just after a few minutes of beading macaroni, we had great colourful lengths!  (Although we’re long out of the pre-school stage, we all dove in at some point and created projects from Macaroni Mandalas, Portrait Making to a Jump Rope!)

It’s such a fun way for kids to decorate their own art spaces or place areas! Check out all of the idea from the other creatives in this challenge below after checking out how we make our garland!
