Easy Weave Bracelets
Easy Woven bracelets are creative projects for the tiniest of creators.
Perfect for small hands and an excellent fine-motor skill project for small children.
Chose yarn that is age appropriate:
thicker yarns for the youngest (even shoelaces work for very, very young children) and
finer threads for older kids and bead that can be added, as well.
This is very adaptable and I’d love to see what you, too do with it.
Easy Weave Bracelets Supplies:
- Recycle plastic bottles or use cardboard
- cutting tool: scissors or xacto knife
- beads
- yarn or embroidery thread
- hole punch
- tape: washi, masking tape or duct tape
-
How to make Easy Weave Bracelets: -
Cut bracelets from recycled plastic containers by slicing through container to create bracelet sized links or cut lengths of cardboard-
-
Leave these plain or coat with washi tape for color and support.
-
If using cardboard, make a circle by overlapping the ends of the bracelet and binding it with tape.
-
These can be tailor-made to the size desired for your small creator.
-
Once you have the basic bracelet formed, punch holes into the bracelet.
-
Cut length of yarn or embroidery thread.
-
Tie and attach this on the inside of the bracelet and begin weaving.
-
Add beads, to weaving, as desired.
-
It’s a very satisfying project for small hands and a wonderful project to do side by side while an older child (or adult) mades a woven bracelet (instructions here, image below)
