Supplies:
Heart Shaped Cake Pan
Colored Water*
Freezer

How-to: Simply fill your cake pan with the colored water.* Cut desired length of cord, fold cord in 1/2 and insert both of the ends into the heart. Give the cord a little time to absorb water in order to sink into the liquid. You will need the cord to be inside the water in order to hold the frozen heart. Freeze until completely solid. Warm the metal of the pan with your hands and slide the ice heart out. If this doesn’t work, use luke warm water to help detach the ice from the pan. Find a place to hang these and enjoy! Icy hearts that will fill your windows with warmth!

(*Use traditional food coloring colors or use cranberry juice. We colored this with cranberry juice. Leave the rope out and use it in a punch bowl for Valentine’s Day. We’ve been experimenting with food coloring vs fruit juice and have see that when we use fruit juice the color is less transparent and more of an opaque color. Both are beautiful!)
