ICE ART SERIES: ICE CUPS
ICE SERIES: ICE CUPS
We’ve started our day in such a fun way. I surprised the kids, this morning, with our very own Ice Cups for breakfast. Against the backdrop of Spring, I would like to toast the exit of February and you. I can’t begin to convey how much fun it has been to see our family’s ice inspiration spread. I love receiving your notes and photos from around the world and enjoy seeing the inspiration crystalize on your dinner tables, parties, quiet craft moments and weddings! Thank you, Readers
ICE CUP SUPPLIES:
Large Plastic Drinking Cups
Small Plastic Drinking Cups
Water
Freezer Tape
ICE CUP HOW-TO:
1) Fill the bottom of a plastic cup with about 1 inch (3 cm) water. Freeze cups.
2) Once the water is frozen, remove from freezer and center a small plastic cup in middle of your cup on top of this frozen ice.Using two pieces of freezer tape, secure this new smaller cup in the center. (See photo #2) Once the centered cup is secure, fill the area around the new cup with water, leaving the center empty. Freeze.
3) Once these are frozen, remove the plastic cups. You may loosen the plastic from the ice by letting these warm at room temperature or by running them under warm water. It is best to have patience and to allow these to warm at room temperature. If they are warmed too quickly, the ice may crack.
4) Fill with beverage. Hold carefully and enjoy.
