Something I learned in Sweden: “Fars Dag”
“Hej, Sverige”
Living in Sweden, there are two things I have difficulty getting to stick:
1) No turning “right on red,” while driving.
2) Father’s Day is celebrated in November.
Yes, November. This holiday is celebrated on the second Sunday in November. (More, on Swedish Father’s Day, here.)
This Monday, I’d hope that the kids are making cards in school. I would like to send off a “Hipp hipp hurrah” to anyone preparing for Swedish Father’s Day. (…that’s how it’s said here!) I wanted to share a few things with you that we made when we celebrated Father’s Day, in June. When do you celebrate this holiday in your area of the world? I’d love to hear from you and about these traditions in your area of the world.
