KID’S STOCKHOLM: WHERE TO EAT WITH KIDS
Restaurants and Cafes
It makes my day when I hear from you with real questions about Stockholm. Yes, here’s a list of my favorite — tried and true — places to eat with kids in Stockholm. Thank you for asking. We hope that you too enjoy our Stockholm.
This list of over 20 choices is built from my favorites, discussions with friends, places we meet friends, places we take visitors, places that have made an impression, places that feel like that perfect old pair of jeans and some where I like to take us when we’re in the mood for more (manners required). We’re a family of foodies and have included the kids in dining out from their first days. Once the kids hit the age where dining is a pleasure, isn’t it fun to include them in some of you favorites?
To generalize: Lunch in Sweden is a great way to sample local fare and most restaurants have “lunch of the day menus;” lunch is also the perfect way to stretch your budget. These hot meals meals include salad, bread and coffee. If you need a broad selection, most cafes will have their house pastries and will also have a soup, salad and quiche lunch on their menus.
And if you just have to have them, all main food chains are global, just inquire at your front desk. If you’d like to try a Swedish variation, go to “Max” which is a Swedish hamburger chain. The other Swedish street food is a hotdog or grilled herring on hard bread. You’ll find this classic, Swedish street food everywhere — absolutely everywhere.
But here is a list of true favorites — favorite places to eat with kids in Stockholm:
