5 FESTIVE CHRISTMAS SHAPED TREATS TO MAKE WITH KIDS
Winter holidays and sweet-treats go hand in hand. In Sweden, Gingerbread Cookies top the list, but, I grew up with a tradition that included many different types of holiday cookies. My Great-Grandmother’s Christmas Eve cookie plate was more like a platter than plate; and it brimmed with every family member’s cookie favourite along with our kid-decorated cut-outs, often looking more like Picasso-deer than Rudolph; but, wasn’t that half of the fun?
Kids get so excited over snowmen, reindeer, and the unexpected. I think kitchen creativity is such a joy and is also worth going extra lengths to make happen.
For a healthy alternative, I love the idea of “Santa hats” which are frozen strawberries topped with a dollop of greek yogurt and nothing bests the simple beauty of a heaping bowl of Christmas Clementines; but, I feel that if there’s a time of the year to break the rules, it’s the Winter Holidays.
